MEDIA BATTLE: ‘INFLUENCE CLUSTER’ IN GREECE GOES TO GROUND
Just like the existence of black holes can only be detected by the effect they have on nearby matter, by the same method you know that a number of State funded influencer outfits must exist, because of their effect on their environment. We have long suspected something nefarious was lurking behind Western Governments and their media lapdogs making an issue of what they called at the time, Fake News. The source of the dis and misinformation was said to be Russia, with the aim of influencing Western elections. Here is a typical example. Now they’ve been caught themselves as the perpetrators of disinformation under the cover of fighting Fake News.
Greece’s Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis had a fiery exchange with a Dutch journalist Ingeborg Beugel.
The fiery exchange between the Greek PM and a Dutch political activist under the cover of journalism took place in November last year, but the matter has not been forgotten. (More on Greek Reporter.) Ever since that incident journos and political organizers in Brussels are going after Mitsotakis and his Government.
The policies of the Mitsotakis administration are right of center on the political spectrum and typically Classical Liberal. But that is far too Right Wing for the tastes of Beugel and her ilk. So they go after him at every opportunity.

Greece is an especially sensitive country in which to operate, given its current political and economic challenges.
The Athens group is comprised of journalists who operate very discreetly and whose main means of dissemination is articles and a website.
While Greece has one of the most vibrant and prolific paper press cultures in the world, the activists of Journos Without Borders published their annual report on Europe’s media landscape, according to which “Greece was the worst-ranked EU country in terms of press freedom”. I’ve seen the piece on Greece syndicated in at least one Dutch news outlet infamous for its Fake News activism, while of course heavily engaged in disinformation themselves. The slur — because that is what it is — is a complete fabrication!
As if that was not enough they complained that the European Parliament took their allegation down. Apparently it did not comply with the Parliament’s guidelines. But Journos Without Borders returned with an attack on EU Parliament President Roberta Metsola, who is from the same faction as the Greek governing party, so without ground they accused her of nepotism (more on Euractiv).
The tweep who posted the story on Twitter has meanwhile made his account accessible only to people he likes. We, apparently, are not among them.
Typing in the shorted URL, results in a notice warning for a ‘potential threat’. It is that, but the posting is gone and the organization has taken care that it remains well hidden. It just heightened suspicion we were on the something here.

This goes to show that these folks are everywhere.
