MENTAL HEALTH: JORDAN PETERSON AND JONATHAN PAGEAU ‘BEYOND ORDER’

Spread the love

After decades of liberal policies, indoctrination and propaganda in order to demolish the nuclear family in general and fathers in particular, with his books on basic rules Canadian psychology professor Jordan Peterson has carved out a niche giving guidance especially to young men around the Western world that have been starved from paternal role models. Today he’s talking with Jonathan Pageau, Orthodox icon carver and expert on symbolism.

Jonathan Pageau and Jordan Peterson meet in Montreal.

With his books “12 Rules For Life” and “Beyond Order” Canadian psychology professor Jordan Peterson is giving guidance especially to young men around the Western world that have been starved from paternal role models for decades. Today he’s talking about this subject and many more with Jonathan Pageau, Orthodox artist and icon carver (The Symbolic World).

In this at times hilarious encounter Peterson explains Biblical stories and religious experiences in psychological and evolutionary terms that are more familiar to (post)modern man than the traditional narrative.

Peterson explains the objective reality of hierarchies of values and shows that the Marxist and Postmodern concept of society in which oppressors are oppressing the weak in a tug-of-war for raw power is fundamentally wrong.

Perhaps shocking to some is Peterson’s rejection of placing the feminine virtue of compassion above everything else. It may be a maternal value for babies, but it stands in the way of the masculine virtue of development. Which would explain why today people have such problems growing up. Mercy and Justice on the other hand are emanating from the patristic side of ethics.
